Mr. Tholstrup and Ms. Dogon
Ms. Laetitia Dogon is a French student who came from the
Leiden University in Holland. She speaks several languages. Therefore, she
assists at the event and is responsible for the English and French announcements.
Mr. Hans Tholstrup, Special Adviser of Energy of the Promotion Club Japan,
came to the event from his hotel on his bike (not a solar bike, but an ordinary). |

Volunteers work together in many areas
Mr. Tatekawi, who is in charge of the car inspection, cooperates
as a volunteer. He participated at the WSR in the former solar car Yokohama
National University Team. He, and many other volunteers, support the event
in a good way in many areas. |

Wakakusakun hangs in the air on a rope
This is a picture at the pit of the No.1 Saitama Kenritsu
Toyoka High School. Wakakusakun hangs on a rope in the air. However, 'he'
is not treated badly, but 'Wakakusakun' is the name of the bike. The bike
hangs on a rope to fix it and to maintain the bike in a good condition. |

Garage Shop
This year too, there is a garage shop at the event. It
sells T-shirts and many other things. Two 'canopy'(=window screen) are being
sold. Mr. Doi and Mr. Goda of the Team Kataro (solar car team from Ogata-mura)
are making the window screen. "We are confident about the efficiency.
Besides, they are cheap.", they both said. |

It may be a little unusual everywhere
-"It looks to me that the tuning of the brakes are
a little poor."
-"Really?"
-"Eh, he's about to take our picture."
-"Then I'll smile right now!"
We think their conversation went like this. |

He explains how to do the test
He explains it loudly using the megaphone at a very close
range. Maybe because he has closed its bike tightly, the rider could not
hear it. |
